FRS helps Adult & Teen Challenge Fight the Other Epidemic – Addiction
Fund Raising Boosted by Furniture donations from FRS in 2020
Carlsbad, CA— January 29, 2021
During their first year of partnership, Furniture Reuse Solutions (FRS) shipped more than 18 tons of furniture and equipment to Teen Challenge locations. Some items, including tables and chairs, are used in Teen Challenge facilities. The other items are sold in their thrift stores to raise funds for their addiction rehabilitation programs. The inventories are donated by corporations and the logistics are coordinated by FRS.
“Our organizations across the country are supporting complex missions to assist youth and adults to overcome additions,” said Russ Cambria, Executive Director of Field Operations for Adult and Teen Challenge USA. “We are always looking for support to help us continue our mission. We are now more than ever in a national addiction crisis and we have so much to do to assist those in need.”
“I cannot say enough about these amazing FRS donation efforts” said Jessica Gutierrez, former Donations Coordinator in Oklahoma. “Their donations feed multiple Teen Challenge OK locations and generate significant revenues to support our core programs”.
FRS began working with Teen Challenge in June 2020 when a major corporation in the west offered a large inventory of high quality office chairs. Knowing that thrift stores are seeing a rising demand for office furniture while so many are working from home, FRS reached out to Teen Challenge, who accepted the offer.
According to Megan Aichner, CEO of FRS, “We connect organizations that have surplus with charities and nonprofits who need it. We are a facilitator for donations. Our clients get a cost-effective and sustainable solution for disposition of their unwanted assets and the charities in our network have a means to support their humanitarian missions.”
