School Furniture for Refugee Children
If you ever wondered what good could come from unneeded school furniture, this news clip from Jordan will show you.
A school district in the western US was replacing classroom furniture and wanted a sustainable disposition solution for their unneeded items. Working with an international charity, FRS facilitated the project that sent the furniture to schools for refugee children in Amman, Jordan. This furniture was so important to their cause that the story appeared on Jordanian national television!
As the influx of Syrian refugees continues, Jordanian educators struggle to provide adequate facilities. A shipping container stuffed with student desks, tables, and chairs goes a long way to improve the schools, as well as to better enable social distancing in the time of COVID.
This is just one example from many projects where FRS, working with our charitable partners, can help US schools find sustainable and cost-effective solutions for their surplus fixed assets.
